We have now ceiling for downstairs

Downstairs partition walls were made of masonry bricks. Buttresses we build several days to downstairs for support the profile steel sheets during the cast. I have also cleaned so much that my cleaning brush terminated of contract, it’s now broken. The superglue and two-side sticky tape are a good first aid for many things :). At the end of steel sheets there are small holes that we had to tape, so the mass won’t drained to downstairs while casting. Took couple of hours to do that, too.

半地下の間仕切壁は人口石のブロックで施工しました。天井下地はスチール板となりますが支えとなる柱の施工には数日間費やしました。その作業と同時にクリーニングをしましたが、私のブラシはボロボロとなり寿命を終えました。瞬間接着剤や両面テープはブラシの応急処置にも使いました。スチール板のエッジには小さな穴がありその穴からコンクリートが流れないようにする為テープで塞ぎました。その作業に２時間ほど費やしました。

For few days we had some rain, so the casting was able to dry slowly. Harder job was when casting was dry: we had to deconstruct the buttress pillars away from downstairs. I can tell that chainsaw was a real helper!
There has been plenty of cleaning the nails out of boards and planks, and probably will be as long as I am willing to clean. Luckily we have cheery volunteer workers a lot in our family. Thank you for help!
この数日、何度か雨になりました。その性で床下地のコンクリートはゆっくりと硬化しました。硬化した後の作業がもっともたいへんでした：地下部分から支えている柱の取り外し作業です。チェーンソーはこの時、便利なものだと痛感しました。また型枠となった板と外して、釘を抜くのも大仕事でした。親戚のボランティア作業にも感謝！

Circular saw has been working without a pause when we have sawed timber. Planks have been long under the shelter when we already have needed them for building. It is a huge help to have our own circular saw and wood. There’s a lot of work at the building site, free time has mostly been used for cleaning.

ラウンドソーはとても役に立ち結構使えました。その柱は建築に必要な時まで十分寝かせられましたので私達の強みでもあります。建築現場ではたくさんの仕事がありますが、時間の空いた時はもっぱら清掃作業です。

この世界の小さな不思議

We have finally ordered windows, what a work! Had to check many times that we for sure get the ones we want. In the offer were only lacquered doors, with three mirrors. We chose Skaala’s white windows and also the doors.

ログハウスの窓の最終オーダーをしましたが、とても大変な作業でした。私達に希望に合った物を決める為何度もチェックをしなければなりませんでした。当初の見積段階では３つのミラーの付いた玄関ドアのみしか含めませんでした。今回の最終注文では、Skaala社の白色の窓とドアを注文しました。

At the building exhibition we found out that there is a possibility to get a coating for a window, so it won’t frost. This is one of the things that no one ever tells you when you want an offer, you have to ask it yourself. Another weird thing while making the electricity plan was that we should have known already where we want to place our furnitures in every room, How can you possibly know it already? Atleast my mind will chance many times while the building process.

建築資材の展示会場で私達は窓外部に凍らないようにコーティングしてある物を見付けました。これは見積段階では誰も教えてくれなかった１つでもありますが、あなたご自身で尋ねるべきでしょう。もう一つ、電気配線図を作る時に各部屋の家具までも想定し作図しなければなりませんが、こんな事の出来る人はいるでしょうか？　少なくとも私達は建築現場で思案を繰り返し何度も変更する事になりました。

Sometimes it is a bit surreal feeling: house is really getting ready. For so long it has been only in paper, we have been able to chance the drawings, but soon it is not possible anymore. Originally we were supposed to start the building already at summer 2010, but we changed the time to this summer. One extra year has brought so many chances and new ideas, I wonder how much the plans would have changed, if we have waited another year longer…

One wouldn’t believe all the things a carpenter has to do. A little bird had done its nest in the carports corner. We had to move the nest to another place so we continue the building.

時々非現実的と感じる時があるのですが、家は現実へどんどん進みます。プランは図面での表現で進む訳ですが私達は何度も図面を修正して貰えました。ですが関連する他はすぐには追従できません。基本設計は２０１０年の夏に完成していましたが、この夏にさらに変更を加えました。この1年の間にさまざまなアイデアが湧いてきたからでもあります。さらに1年待っていたらどれだけの修正になったかが怖いぐらいです。
大工さんの仕事で、信じられない他の仕事は出来ました。それは小鳥がカーポートの隅に巣を作ってしまった事です。私達の作業をする上で邪魔になり移動しなければならなくなりました。
