A log house in our dreams

The decision of getting a plot was quick, because similar lakeside plots are rare. We got our plot year 2006, at the time we didn’t know will we build a vacation home or a permanent home. Over time it has become clearer that Kemijärvi would be our permanent home town, so in the beginning of 2010 we started to plan the building of the house.

私達の夢はログハウス

これが私達のログハウス用地の全景です。この場所を購入する時は何も悩まず簡単に決まりました。一番気に入ったのは湖畔にある事ですが、こんな素晴しい環境は稀だったからです。2006年に手に入れた土地で、当時はまだ別荘用にするか、自宅用にするか未定でした。時が経って2010年の事、私達はこの土地ケミヤルビに自宅を建てる決心をいたしました。

We started to plan by ourselves already in year 2009 and the drawings of house plan have found their way from our thoughts on paper slowly. Our motto has been that Good comes slowly, easy does it. It was clear from the very beginning that the building material would be log. The shapes of terrain gave direction to the model of the house and they also defined that the other building material would be stone.

家のプランはその前年の2009年からゆっくりしたペースですが私達の手で描いていました。私達は「慌てず慎重に進める」というスタンスですが、最初から決めていたのは唯一、新築の家はログハウスにするという事でした。この土地の形状に合わせたログハウスで、石の素材も使ったマイホームを実現させる構想です。
