For ceiling panels is used VS semi-matt internal lacquer, Tikkurila tone Lumi (snow) no. 5060.

The first log walls and log panels got some color. Interior walls have been used Kiva PH3441 translucent inner color  Pähkinäpensas (Hazel) also known ;)

Busy January / 多忙の１月

Assembling the partition walls, priming coats the walls, planning the slabs ( the most challenging job in the world ..phew), many meters electric cables, assembling the air conditioning pipes, assembling the doors, cleaning, planning the kitchen, requesting the offers, and plenty of planning work  hmm…this was our January.

The local company, Ränni-Olli Oy, blast the wool to the roof. It makes holes to plastic of moisture barriers. It takes some hours we fixed it after with ourselves.

近所のRänni-Olli Oy社が屋根のブラストウールを施工してくれ、防湿防止シートに穴をあけました。その修理は私達が行いました。

Okey, after all the partition wall between sauna and bathroom we took down. It moves few tens cm that we get more space to sauna, we gave up to assemble the whirlpool bath…. but then we start to dreaming glass wall in the sauna ;) and start the send price requests.
サウナと風呂の間仕切り壁が完成しユニットを設置しました。ジャルジー風呂を諦めユニットを数ｃｍ移動した結果、サウナスペースに余裕を作りました。その結果サウナはドリーミングガラス壁としました。

Outdoor work done in December / 外部作業は１２月になったので休止です

There was one beautiful cold winter day when our relatives came to visiting us from Kajaani. They came to check the building site and wondered the January is almost got the end and house is not ready. They had follow the blog and the basis of that “We got the roof on your head”. It happens that planning work take so much time from the Blogger ;) Let’s give forgiveness this little delay. Let’s update December.
寒かったですが快晴のある日、カヤーニ(Kajaani)の友人達がやってきました。彼らは現場を一目見て驚きました。何故ならもう１月になるのにログハウスがまったく完成していなかったからです。彼らは私のブログ（We got the roof on your head）を見て現場の様子は知っていたはずだったのですが・・・。プランニングに費やした時間が長かった事に原因はありますが、まあご容赦頂きましょう。さて１２月分のブログを更新します。

The mason Tenho Lehtola made a masonry a couple of days, the fire wall is now through the roof. It’s has been snowing the end of December much that we will continue the outdoor work until the next spring.
石職人のTenho Lehtolaは数日間現場に入ってくれました。その結果、暖炉の壁も屋根まで完成しました。この１２月に入っての雪の量は半端ではありません。外部作業は春までお預けとします。

防風プレートと窓がインストールされました。さてこれからは内装作業に移ります。

The floor cast for middle layer was in Christmas week, the concrete delivered Ruskon Betoni Oy.
It was then stay a good Christmas holiday, the doors were closed, I kept myself a holiday and free from construction work. ;)
床の左官作業はクリスマス中に行いました。コンクリートはRuskon Betoni Oyが持って来てくれました。その作業が終わった後のクリスマスは建築現場も閉めて、ゆっくり休めました。

When ordering the window was a small mistake occurred, the staircase windows have to be thicker glass and fixed casement, well now in place is opening ordinary windows. However, the case has taken into account, the new windows ordered and now they are waiting for exchange in our building site. Be mentioned, that there has been a nice surprises too, thank you for Ikihirsi such a nice Christmas Gifts which we found from our building site. Thank you to all volunteers! :)
窓の発注時に小さなミスが発生しました。階段側面の窓ですがもう少し厚いガラスでケースメントでなければなりませんでした。ですが直ぐに正しい窓を届けてくれました。現在はその窓の取付を待つだけです。さらにサプライズなのはイキヒリシがクリスマスにその窓を届けてくれた事です。まるでクリスマスプレゼントをもらった時の気分でした。ボランティアに感謝。

The roof wetting party was held in one of the beautiful Friday evening. Of course I spend my evenings shift that only a few days I was able to help on the roof. Mikko got to do the other side of the roof, otherwise he entertained in working trips.
 屋根完成パーティーは、ある晴れた金曜日の夜に行いました。もちろん私も自分の仕事を調整しこの日に臨み、数日間ではありましたが屋根工事を助ける事もできました。Mikkoは他方の屋根工事をした後、出張に出掛けました。

The Mother Nature gave us a favorable, threw snow on the ground until the night of Wednesday. It’s not in decades, come so late in the winter to here in Lapland. I could say that “it was better than 100 hares” (Finnish phrase). 
 母なる自然は私達に利益をもたらし、水曜日の夜までに大地へ雪を降らします。それは数十年もの間、ここラップランドに冬が来るのが遅くなっていないという事。“その恵みは１００の野ウサギより良い”（フィンランドのことわざ）

I really have to tell you about our local hardware store. One of the sellers there told us last May that when our bill arrives home we shouldn’t pay it through bank but come to store and pay it there. That way we could have got some bonus points. Well, we did as adviced about four months. One day when I went to pay our bills other seller (the owner) told me that I won’t get any bonus points if I pay bills. I also heard first time that I should come to pay bills every Monday. So bye bye all the bonus points!
Seller nro. 1 just wondered that we hadn’t got any points? Sometimes it is really nerve-wracking try to work with sellers that aren’t proficient… Time shows if they compensate this to us at all. Surely we’ve had other things in mind too than bonus points. So you who plan building, remember the lesson of this story.

さて、地元のハードウエアーストアーの話をします。　５月、あるストアーの1社に立ち寄った時、以下のようなアドバイスを受けました。請求書が自宅に届いた時に銀行から振込むのでは無く、ストアーに来て支払うようにと言われました。　これはボーナスポイントを獲得する為で、私達はこのアドバイスに４ケ月間従いました。　ところがある日、別な同系列のストアーに支払いの為立ち寄った時に、ポイントカード機にカードを入れようとしたところ「ポイントは付かないので入れる必要が無いですよ」と言われました。え~ぇ？？？　実は私が勘違いをしていて、こういうシステムだったようです。「ショップから請求書が来る前に支払の為にショップへ行くとポイントが付く」、という事だったのです。そういえば最初このポイントシステムに入会する時に聞いた覚えがありました。そういえば毎週月曜日に支払いに行っていたなぁ・・・・　あ～ぁ全てのボーナスポイントさん、さようなら・・・・
だけど・・・ショップのレジ係は私達にポイントが無い事を不思議に思わなかったのかしら？　まあ、ショップのスタッフにも熟練した人も、そうでない人も居ますから仕方ない話でしょうね。　これはこれから建築なさる方々へのアドバイスをさしあげました。


(In Finland many people own certain K- bonus point card, which one shows when buying something from K-shops. K-shops can be food stores, hardware stores etc. just as long as they belong to K-group. One gets points according to things one buys. With bonus points one can get discount later.)
